John Schneider has been the Seattle Seahawks general manager since 2010. He added the additional title of executive vice president in 2013. In that period of time, Seattle has had the best run of success in franchise history and become one of the league's most successful teams. The Seahawks made back-to-back Super Bowl appearances and won Super Bowl XLVIII. Schneider has successfully guided the selection of franchise cornerstones like Russell Wilson, Richard Sherman and Earl Thomas in the NFL Draft. During his first season on the job, he orchestrated a team-changing trade for Marshawn Lynch. Schneider has often proven to make important decisions in free agency as well, like signing veteran defensive end Michael Bennett. Sports Illustrated named him the Executive of the Year in 2012. Prior to arriving in Seattle, he worked in the Green Bay Packers front office for eight seasons. He rose to director of football operations. He also worked with the Kansas City Chiefs and Washington Redskins. Schneider began his career as a Packers intern in 1992.
