Scott Anthony's Biography
Scott D. Anthony is an internationally recognized expert and dynamic keynote speaker on topics related to navigating disruptive change.
An advisor, executive, innovator, teacher, writer, and speaker, Anthony is a consummate optimist that is passionate about spreading ideas that help individual and organizations thrive in today’s world of never-ending change.
Scott’s journey started more than two decades ago with a two-year apprenticeship under Harvard Business School legend Clayton Christensen, the father of disruptive innovation who was twice named the world’s most influential management thinker by Thinkers50.
In 2003, Scott became part of the early leadership team at Innosight, a growth strategy consultancy co-founded by Christensen. He helped to build Innosight’s US operations

While attending graduate school at Princeton, Scott painted in his spare time, and was elected to the New Jersey Water Color Society. He also attended the National Academy Of Design in New York for half a year and studied watercolor with the late Mario Cooper, past president of the American Watercolor Society.
After moving to San Francisco in 1974, he continued to paint landscape and seascape, especially the spectacular Northern California coastline and nearby countryside. The old buildings, boats, and wharfs of San Francisco also appealed to him, particularly late in the afternoon when the warm light creates a wonderful play of light, dark, and color. He was elected a signature member of the National Watercolor Society in 1977, and won a purchase award from the Laguna Museum of Art in the NWS Annual juried show that year. His work is in over 3000 private and corporate collections.

Scott D. Anthony is a senior advisor to Innosight. As a former senior partner and managing partner, Scott helped business leaders design new growth strategies, build innovation capabilities, navigate disruptive innovation, and manage strategic transformation.
He is currently a Professor at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College, where his research and teaching focuses on navigating disruptive change. He teaches the popular elective courses “Leading Disruptive Change,” “Horizon Scanning,” and “AI and Decision Making.”
Recognized globally for his thought leadership, Thinkers50 has named Scott one of the world’s most influential management thinkers multiple times. In 2017, he won the Thinkers50 Innovation Award, which recognizes the world’s leading innovation thinker.
Scott’s next book, his eighth, is scheduled to be published by Harvard Business Review Press in 2025. It is tentatively titled Anomalies Wanted: A Brief History of Disruption. He is co-author of the book “Eat, Sleep, Innovate: How to Make Creativity an Everyday Habit Inside Your Organization“ (
