Ed wubbe biography

Lung-ssu Yen was born and raised in Taiwan. His first encounter with dance was ballet, modern dance, and Chinese dance at an art high school in Taiwan.

Lung-ssu graduated from Codarts University of the Arts in Rotterdam with a bachelor’s degree in dance in 2021. Here he worked with choreographers Roy Assaf, Felix Landerer, Wayne McGregor, and Naccho Duato.

In 2020/2021 Lung-ssu started working with Scapino Ballet Rotterdam as an apprentice under the direction of Ed Wubbe, where he worked with choreographers such as Ed Wubbe, Justin de Jager, and Borna Babić. In 2021 Lung-ssu was working with Joseph Sturdy with the companies Dans i Nord and Focus Dance in Sweden, and touring the new creation My lake in Sweden.

Lung-ssu has also been freelancing as a performer, maker, and model. Among other projects he did the choreography for Camille Boumans’ dance film project Merged Waters.

Lung-ssu was part of NSP 2 for the season 2022-23.

Ed Wubbe (Amsterdam, 1957) is a Dutch choreographer.[1]

Since 1992 he has been artistic director of the Scapino Ballet in Rotterdam.[2]

    Bruno was a founding member of the Hofesh Shechter Company and has been involved in all of Hofesh’s creations, since the early works of Uprising and In Your Rooms to his most recent piece Grand Finale. He has performed in Uprising, In your rooms, Political Mother, Political Mother: The Choreographer’s Cut, Survivor, Sun, barbarians.
    Other Work: Beatriz Consuelo (Ballet Junior de Genève), Richard Wherlock (Luzern Ballet and Komische Oper Berlin), Iracity Cardoso and Paulo Ribeiro (Ballet Gulbenkian, Lisbon).

    He danced in works by Richard Wherlock, Guilherme Botelho, Ed Wubbe, Örjan Andersson, Rui Horta, Itzik Galili, Ohad Naharin, Mats Ek, Stijn Celis, Mauro Bigonzetti, Didy Veldman, Marie Chouinard, Clara Andermatt, Rui Lopes Graça, Regina van Berkel and Paulo Ribeiro.

    Bruno featured in the film Passengers by Richard Wherlock.
