David Henry Hwang (born August 11, 1957) is an American playwright, librettist, screenwriter, and theaterprofessor at Columbia University in New York City. He has won three Obie Awards for his plays FOB, Golden Child, and Yellow Face. He has one Tony Award (M. Butterfly) and two other nominations (Golden Child and Flower Drum Song). Three of his works (M. Butterfly, Yellow Face, and Soft Power) have been finalists for the Pulitzer Prize for Drama.
Early life
He was born in 1957 in Los Angeles, California, to Henry Yuan Hwang, the founder of Far East National Bank,[1] and Dorothy Hwang, a piano teacher. The oldest of three children, he has two younger sisters. He received a bachelor's degree in English from Stanford University in 1979 and attended the Yale School of Drama between 1980 and 1981, taking literature classes.[2] He left once workshopping of new plays began, since he already had a play being produced in New York. David Henry is a contemporary realist painter living in Philadelphia. He has devoted many years developing the art of capturing light and color in his canvases. Born in 1962, Henry's journey into the world of art began at an early age, fueled by an innate curiosity and creative predisposition.
His formal artistic education began in New York City, where he enrolled at the School of Visual Arts, majoring in illustration and fine art. Eager to delve deeper into the classical techniques of painting, Henry pursued additional studies in anatomy and traditional painting at the Art Students League. It was during this time that Henry was selected by the American Master, Nelson Shanks, to participate in a transformative apprenticeship under his guidance, immersing himself in the principles of painting within a focused studio environment.

David Henry (born February 24, 1975, in Denver, Colorado) is an American International Federation of BodyBuilders (IFBB) professional bodybuilder.[1] Henry is a Master Sgt. (E-7) in the United States Air Force. He lives in Tucson, Arizona. Henry is the first 202-212 division Mr Olympia winner.
Career
At age 17, David started training with weight for his track & field events and competed his first bodybuilding competition, the Team Muscle Tech Challenge, where he won. His first National Physique Committee (NPC) competition was in the 2001 NPC Nationals, where he placed 11th in the middleweight division. His first IFBB competition was the Florida Pro Xtreme Challenge of 2004, where he placed 10th. His first Ironman Pro Invitational was in the same year, where he placed 6th. His first Arnold Classic was in 2005, where he placed 12th. He competed in his first Mr. Olympia later that year, where he placed 14th.
