Boston is an American rock band formed in Boston, Massachusetts in 1975. The band's core members include multi-instrumentalist, founder and leader Tom Scholz, who played the majority of instruments on the band's 1976 self-titled debut album, and former lead vocalist Brad Delp, among a number of other musicians who varied from album to album.[1]

Boston experienced significant commercial success during the 1970s and 1980s. Their best-known songs include "More Than a Feeling", "Peace of Mind", "Foreplay/Long Time", "Rock and Roll Band", "Smokin'", "Don't Look Back", "A Man I'll Never Be", "Hitch a Ride", "Party", "Amanda" and "Feelin' Satisfied". The band has sold more than 75 million records worldwide, including 31 million units sold in the United States, of which 17 million were the band's debut album and seven million copies of the band's second studio album, Don't Look Back (1978), placing the group at #63 amongst the world's best-selling music artists.[2][3] Altogether, the band has released six studio album

Boston becomes who they are today because another band decides to call it quits.The band’s name is “Mother’s Milk”. Even though they didn’t last, the members continue to spend time together in a homemade recording studio in a basement creating demo tapes honing their skills and reinventing themselves. The outcome, the band named Boston.

 

March of The Rejected Demos

Comprised of Brad Delp on vocals, Barry Goudreau on guitar, Jim Masdea on drums, and Tom Scholz on guitar and keyboards. The band sends demo tapes to record companies, but receives consistent rejections. Scholz subsequently works with Masdea and Delp to produce six new demos. 

 

These include “More Than a Feeling”, “Peace of Mind”, “Rock and Roll Band”, “Something About You “and two more. They finished four of the six by the end of 1974, and they finished “More Than a Feeling” and “Something About You” in 1975.
