Jayavani (also known as Uma Maheswari Gummadi) is an Indian Telugu film actress and tv serial artist. She gained popularity in 2006 with the film Vikramarkudu directed by S. S. Rajamouli.She mostly does Vamp character's in the films She act. She has also done some films in Kannada and Tamil languages. Having interest in acting she also learnt Kuchipudi.[1]

Jayavani belongs to the native place, Macharla, Guntur, Andhra Pradesh. Her father was an employee at BHEL, she was born and brought up in BHEL, Hyderabad.
