Pervaiz Rashid was born on 1 May 1950 to a Kasana family of Gujjars in Sialkot. His father, Abdul Rasheed, was an activist of the Pakistan Movement.
After matriculating from local high school in Lahore, Rashid attended the Gordon College where he received his Bachelor in Fine Arts.
At Gordon College, he was regarded as one of the brilliant student as many senior politicians were his class or college fellows at the time. In the 1980s, he joined the Pakistan Television Corporation and worked in a corporate assignments of the PTV. Pervaiz Rashid (Urdu: پرويز رشيد) is a Pakistani politician who served as the Federal Minister of Information, Broadcasting, and National Heritage and Minister for Law, Justice and Human Rights in the Third Sharif ministry.[1][2] A member of Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz), Rashid has been a member of the Senate of Pakistan since 2009[3] and previously served as the Chairman of the Pakistan Television Corporation from 1997 to 1999 during the Sharif's government in 1997.[4]
Considered a representative of the left-wing of the PML-N, he has previously described himself as a Marxist and as an admirer of Che Guevara and Meraj Muhammad Khan.[5]

Ahmad was born on 6 November 1950, into a Kashmiri family[4] in Bhabra Bazaar in Rawalpindi, Punjab.[5][6][2]
He received his early education from Polytechnic College and graduated from Government Gordon College. Ahmad was a leader of the student union at Gordon College.[7] He completed his Bachelor of Laws at the University of Punjab in 1973.[6][2] He later earned his Master's in political science from the same university in 1982.[8]
