Ndaba Mhlongo, Biography & Relationship With Somizi

Growing up was never the same with South African masterpiece dramas. Your childhood must have been an interesting one if you still remember ‘uMshefane no S’dudla,’ – in Inyakanyaka,  once South Africa’s rib-ticking comic edition that took everyone by storm in the early 2002-2004.

These were the tales of the two inseperable troublesome mates, Mshefane and S’dudla.

The edition was the rise to fame of one of South Africa’s legendary actor, choreographer and incomperable comedy genius, Ndaba ‘Mshefane’ Mhlongo.

Mshefane stared in so many South African televised films including the much acclaimed Sarafina, where he played a choreograph role that lent him a Tony Award nomination for Best Choreography.

What you may have not known is, Ndaba Mhlongo is actually the father of the famed radio personality and chorographer actor, Somizi Somgaga Mhlongo.

No wonder Somizi’s exceptional talent, he was born of acting royalty.

South African television personality (born 1972)

Somizi Buyani Mhlongo (born 23 December 1972) is a South African television presenter, choreographer, media personality and socialite. In 1992, he appeared on the musical and political film, Sarafina! which gained him prominence.[2] Mhlongo became lead choreographer for numerous shows and events, including the opening and closing ceremonies for the 2010 FIFA World Cup and 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.[3][4]

After starring and taking part in the choreography of Sarafina!, Mhlongo also appeared in several films including drama film Cry, the Beloved Country (1995) as well as various television shows, including Idols South Africa and V Entertainment.[5]
